St John Ambulance – Secret Harbour
The St John Ambulance Australia centre, Secret Harbour, comprised a reception, 12-bay ambulance garage, paramedic rest rooms, ablutions, kitchen and living facilities, an office, pool deck, service yard and car park.
The construction consisted of cast in situ footings and slabs, tilt-up concrete panels, structural steel erection and custom orb roof sheeting. We used external CFC cladding, internal block work walls with plaster, acoustic tile ceilings and gyprock fire-check ceilings and compartments.
For easy access, we installed sensor-activated, automatic roller doors. To create a comfortable ambience, we applied an external, textured coat finish to the tilt panels and CFC cladding and painted the internal walls. We fitted full-height wall tiles in the amenities and carpets throughout.
This project was completed within the 28-week time frame, despite the late arrival of essential reticulated services provided by the developer. We had to prop the layout because of the design of the intricate wall panels and upgraded the material and paint specifications because of the close proximity to the ocean, to ensure a longer lasting high-quality finish.
