The Hometown Cannington duplex showrooms were a refurbishment and extension of the old WA Salvage building, creating 4400m2 of prime bulky goods retail showroom space and associated warehouse facilities for Retravision and Ray’s Outdoors.

The external structure was constructed with a steel portal frame and concrete tilt panels, finished with black metallic alucobond and silver metallic kingspan, specially imported from the UK for the project.

Internally, the steel frame and tilt panels incorporated 9mm cement fibre cladding to provide insulation to the ‘conditioned’ interior spaces, complying with acoustic and energy certification requirements.

To create the ambience and appeal to suit these prestigious retail brands, the insulated panels are painted and the interior features archistone black iron stone cladding and colour back glass.

To complete the project, we constructed and resurfaced 6000m2 of car parking. This project was completed to an all-inclusive stage within the required 26-week time frame. Works were conducted in a busy, operational retail complex with traffic management and safety issues to contend with. We worked with the local council to attain the development approval, building licence and during all construction stages.

The project management team also worked with the tenants’ own fit out team.
