Murdoch University Chemical Laboratory

Murdoch University, 90 South Street, Murdoch, WA
Murdoch University
Completed 2014

This project consisted of the fit out of a new Chemical Laboratory into an existing building at Murdoch
University, which was previously used as a piggery.

Before any works could commence on site there was a large amount of make good that had to be carried out to the existing shell of the building following damage from the demolition of all interior walls, ceilings and fixtures.

Due to the complex nature of services being installed, including specialised gases, compressed air and vacuum systems, exhaust arms, and fume cupboards, the stringent organisation of trades and constant liaison between all parties involved on site was imperative to ensure progress ran smoothly and to program.

To ensure that the end product would suitable for requirements, and compatible with any equipment the client planned to use in the finished Laboratory, it was necessary to maintain an open line of communication with the client and consultants throughout all stages of the works, but primarily in the early stages.

It was during these early stages where any unforeseen issues or complications that arose on site were dealt with in a prompt, timely and professional manner by the Client, Consultants, The Slatter Group WA project team and Contractors, which lead to the delivery of a successful project completion.
