This project required a strip out of 7000m2 of existing offices including partition walls, redundant services, and loose furniture, followed by a new office fit-out.
New works included construction of new partitions to form new offices, boardrooms and staff hub, and the installation of some new workstations.
Additional works to the value of $1,000,000 were requested by the client for the replacement of existing ceilings and skirting ducts throughout the building along with replacement of a large portion of existing carpet.
The construction of new glazed and plasterboard partitions over all 8 floors had to be carefully planned and executed along with co-ordination of all services within these partitions to achieve an on time completion.
One challenge faced on this project was the co-ordination of works to be carried out safely around the existing furniture that was to remain onsite. Careful management and planning were integral in completing all tasks with the existing furniture in situ.
In addition to this, the lifts on site were too small to fit the majority of materials, so most items had to be carried up the stairs.
Planning and early procurement of contractors and materials were vital in this project to eliminate any delays due to lead times, especially important for this project given the tight timeframe.
Having a suitably qualified team of carpenters and subcontractors was the integral component in completing this project on time.
